Merced County Ag invited Mininger Foods to come out and talk to 3rd grade students about growing and processing Sweet Potatoes on October 6, 2016. Dave and Amberly shared with the students how Mininger Foods goes through the farming seasons with Hot Beds, Planting, Irrigation, and Harvest. The children were able to hold different sweet potato varieties and enjoyed looking through pictures of the process. They shared with the children how Mininger Foods then takes the potatoes to our processing plant where we wash, cut and package them for market.
